Puma have updated their classic Puma Mid with a vulcanised outsole. This seems to be a very trendy thing to be doing at the moment in the sneaker scene, with several companies doing it and very few pulling it off (pointing no fingers). Luckily, Puma have done well.
Along with the trendy vulcanised outsole, the Mid has been re-made in some premium materials. The sides are ripstop nylon, the collar, heel and lacestay are premium suede, the tongue and toe are leather, and the Formstripes are high gloss leather to make them shine! As if all this wasn’t enough, Puma have lined the shoe with athletic jersey for supreme comfort.
To celebrate this slick kick, Puma have created some limited edition premium laces to accompany the shoe. The laces feature a metal aglet (the bit at the end of the lace, for those who don’t know) with silver cat detailing to match the silver logo on the side of the sneak. Each pair of kicks comes with a White & Black pair of laces, presented in a small hand-made lace bag designed by the guys over at Goodone. The lace bag is made from recycled bits of off-cut Puma fabrics – something to make the eco sneaker heads happy.
Some clever people may notice that the lace bag is perfect size to hold your phone or camera, and put it to good use. Others of us will leave it in the shoe box, keeping it in perfect condition, completely useless but perfect.
You can get your hands on these now from Chemical UK for roughly £55.
