Thursday (4th Feb) night was the launch party and preview of Sebastian Denz’ Skateboarding 3D book, in my opinion this fresh take on the way we watch and view skateboarding is amazing and my fingers are crossed for 3D skateboard films which surely must be in the pipe lines for a lot of companies. Back to the event…
As usual the Carhartt store on Earlham Street, London re arranged the store to make room for the over sized prints and provided us all with 3D glasses as well as having a copy of the book on display giving us a chance to preview it before its official release the following day. The book on display was the limited edition boxed version of said book, also on show was a skateboard deck designed by Denz himself and Stefan Marx of Carhartt, even the deck graphic was in 3D!

The prints that graced the walls where extremely impressive, the 3d effect was amazing. As usual the free beer was flowing and the store filled pretty nicely, after seeing this exhibition i am sure that the skateboarding industry will embrace 3D and i look forward to further 3 dimensional projects from the likes of Carhartt and many others. ‘Skateboarding 3.D’ is available now retailing at £40 from both London stores.
