Some of you might be a little unfamiliar with the brand Filson, and so was i until a few days ago. Filson are a outdoor wears brand originated in Seattle that started many moons ago in around 1897 by C.C Filson, just as the Klondike gold rush kicked in. Many a worker at that time headed to Seattle with the aim to head further north where the conditions where so much more harsher in search of gold and fortune. It is here where Filson made his claim to fame as being one of the best, highest quality outfitters of the time. Making sure he used the most highest quality and hardwearing materials available to him, Filson prided himself on giving the customers something that was not only going to last them, but also was in keeping with the fashion trends of the time.
It’s funny how things go full circle, Flatspot have recently received these Mackinaw caps, both in forest green. Filson even today stay true to their words, using 100% virgin wool that will keep you warm and the water out. The inside of the caps are insulated with polyester quilting and nylon lined. As you can see one of the caps comes with sheep skin earflaps as the other conceals its wool earflaps seamlessly, the quality here is second to none. On a personal note, i really like these caps, but i have doubts in my ability to be able to pull them off. Having said this if i was to see someone rocking either of these in the street i would defiantly double take.
