Thursday (22/04/10) see’s the launch of a brand new exhibition by two of London’s most talented artists, Amar Stewart and Mister Batlow. The two artists, both with fashion backgrounds, come together to launch a collaborative show, interpreting classic biblical references in their own unique styles.
Eden’s Garden will feature a collection of paintings, photography and drawings, highlighting the two artist’s individual techniques and very different approaches to the subject. Amar’s work explores the darker nature of the story through paintbrush and spray techniques, while Batlow’s work features much bolder, more tongue-in-cheek references in pop colours. The center piece of the exhbition will be a collaborative mural and installation between the two artists, featuring something I am very excited to see, a real snake!
The show will also feature a pop up shop from Batlow’s The Ugly Kids Club and the launch of Amar’s new brand of Eastern inspired clothing, Aum. The exhibition runs Friday 23rd April until Wednesday May 5th, with the launch and private view taking place this Thursday evening. For more info on the show and both artists, check out the Eden’s Garden Tumblr.
