Lyrics And Type is a typography based sceenprint exhibition put together by Wooden Toy Magazine. The second installment (Verse 2) launches at London’s East Gallery this Thursday (April 8th) with a little help from VNA Magazine.
The exhibition features the work of 14 desiginers, artists and illustrators from across the globe who have created their own typographic pieces based on lyrics from songs past and present. Amongst artists from the USA, France and Australia are 8 UK artists including I Love Dust, Keaton Henson and Mr Gauky. I was lucky enough to meet the latter on my recent trip to Secret Wars in Germany, so I’m looking forward to seeing what Mr Gauky has prepared this time around.
The launch of the exhibition takes place at the East Gallery on Brick Lane on Thursday, 6-9pm and it will run until April 21st. Prints of the work will be available on opening night, so I suggest you head down. More info on the artists and the event at Lyrics And Type.
