This week we’ve been down in Newquay for Boardmasters festival, getting involved in the various events put together by Vans, including surfing, skateboarding and BMX. The festival officially kicked off on Wednesday, but it was Thursday before things really got going.
After a dismal start weather-wise, it wasn’t long before the sun broke through the clouds and the riders took to their ramps (and waves). We started the day at the Vans Trash To Art tent, where kids were invited to get involved in the beach clean-up, exchanging bags of trash for freebies. The trash is then used to construct a giant art piece which will take shape across the rest of the weekend. We followed this up with some time on the beach, where amateurs and pros mixed out in the waves, a stint by the vert ramp and stopped to check out the Vans BMX pros warm up the mini-ramp before heading in to town for the Vans Street Skate competition. Check out a selection of photos below and check back for more tomorrow.
