Recap: Boardmasters: Day 2

Following on from yesterday’s recap, Friday at Boardmasters was just as packed. Friday saw the kick off of the music festival at Watergate Bay – a mix of rock, dance and pop. In addition there was a tonne more surf, skate and BMX action over the two ramps at Fistral beach, and of course out in the bay.

The sports got off to a slow start due the adverse weather, with a bit of mist and fog holding the action back. We started the day down at the mini-ramp, with the BMX riders putting on a bit of a best trick competition, where Vans team rider Ben Hennon made it look easy. Down at the Vans retail stall, the guys from SoleCreator are testing our their new customisation softwear, allowing members of the public to design their own pair of Vans Chukkas or Authentics. In the evening we made our way to the Vans tent at Watergate to check out Trash Talk and We Are The Ocean, who both put on great shows, while Vans provided their trademark waffles out front.

More on Saturday at Boardmasters coming tomorrow, and stay locked for interviews with Trash Talk as well as a bunch of Vans pros soon.
