Recap: Vans Teenage Kicks auction

Thursday night Vans launched their Teenage Kicks Auction, showcasing one off art pieces on Vans Slip-ons to be auctioned in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust. What a great idea! We went along to snap up some pics of the shoes and the drunk people trying on other shoes.

It was interesting to see the Carnaby Vans store transformed into some form of sneaker gallery for one night, with some of the kicks looking ready for general release whilst others can only be done justice by the word “crazy”. The Slip-ons have actually been customised and collected over the last few years and are now being auctioned publicly on eBay with ALL proceeds going the Teenage Cancer Trust. Customisers involved include some of music/art/designs finest including Robert Plant, Marina and the Diamonds, Rich Jacobs, PPQ, Best Ever and the Gallagher brothers.

Alongside these customised numbers were some masterpieces that unfortunately will not find their way into the auction, including an amazingly detailed pair by Stella McCartney!

I have to say that I have mad love for Vans for doing something like this and more brands should be getting in on this kind of action. Not only was it a great evening, some great sneaks were made and most importantly it’s gonna raise serious cash money for a great cause. Big up.

Keep your eyes peeled on eBay for these one-offs floating around very soon!
