Air Jordan Flight 9 (Black & White Olympic)

We all know by now Jordan Brand likes to play around with holy grails from the Air Jordan back catalogue to create new mash up hybrids. The Spiz’ikes and 60+’s were pretty dope. Other hybrids have left Jordan fans feeling cold and majorly fragile.

Jordan Brand kick off AW10 proceedings with the release of these two Jordan Flight 9‘s. They seem to be another one of Jordan Brand’s hybrids that makes hardcore fans spit with rage at the computer screen. Personally I don’t think they’re that bad. Comparing the Flight 9 to OG III and IV make-ups is obviously going to cause hurt. Looking at the Flight 9 from a fresh perspective, the black version accents the shape quite well here, granted the un-balanced splashes of olympic based colour doesn’t flow beautifully, it’s still a shoe a lot of people could pull off and prove the haters wrong.

The olympic colours here are evidently taken from the AJ VI Olympic colourway. The number 9 (Michael’s USA Team number) also gets an outing on the tongue, which sends the message that this release seems to be celebrating MJ’s 1984 and 1992 Olympic appearances, where he won gold medals both times.

These are available from Size? now.
