Nike Sportswear Athletics Far East Collection

Introducing Athletics Far East (AFE), Nike’s latest collection focused on innovative running technology with a strong influence from the far east.

Nike pay homage to their strong connections with the far East in this collection, be it Japanese factories in the early years of the company or the influence of Tokyo-based collectors on the iconic brand. Last year saw the arrival of Athletics East as a rival to the infamous Nike track club Athletics West founded in ’77. Athletics Far East is a development on the Athletics East concept, moving more into trail running, one of Nike co-founder Bill Boweman’s strongest passions.

Using innovative technologies and materials to help control moisture, warmth and protect from the wind, the collection has a strong focus on functionality whilst also being very fashion based. Including sneakers, jackets, a peacoat varsity, shorts, trousers and under-garments, the collection crosses between fashion and running with an Eastern fashion influence being visible through styles and the use of military camo’s.

Overall, a more than strong collection that sits perfectly on trend for the rise of military styles that we are seeing and due to see much more of next Summer.

Available as of 25th September, you will be able to purchase the items from Selfridges and a few other select retailers.

Peep the ‘behind the scenes’ video below that was shot on a Super 8 camera during the photo shoot to gain a deeper understanding of how the items look in real life.
