Onitsuka Tiger X-Caliber (Blue/Red & Orange/Black)

First released in 1982, the Caliber-X from japanese brand Onitsuka Tiger will probably look like a very simple shoe on first looks. Don’t let looks deceive you though, the Calibre-X was a innovative design and still has a variety of features that stand out today.

This release has the choice of two vibrant colourways, Blue/Red and Orange/Black which have that Onitsuka Tiger flavour in place. The outsole has visible ‘flex canals’ which were designed to support the most important points of the foot and allow freedom of movement. A reinforced toebox and ‘quadra’ lacing system all help with to achieve a near perfect fit. The mixture of leather, nylon and felt tops off this classic 80’s runner.

These make-ups are strong. A combination of old technology and style should appeal to 80’s runner fans and sneaker heads alike.

Available from Crooked Tongues and other Onitsuka Tiger stockists now.
