Today sees the launch of the first collaborative collection between London’s The Hideout and iconic Americana brand Dickies.
Taking the Dickies basics, Michael Kopelman and Andrew Bunney have slimmed the cuts to make them more fashion than work wear. Nothing crazy or over the top, just simple and effective with minimal branding. This collection is clearly all about the clothes themselves.
Built to last, just like any Dickies product, the shirting features triple stitching rather than their usual double, emphasising on the toughness of the product. The collection has been designed with a not-rediculous price in mind and therefore Michael and Andrew decided to roll out the basics of the Dickies range, but with a twist. You will notice that the garms are not co-branded and that quite a lot of the branding is printed on so that it can wash off over time … all enabling you to focus on the product itself. This is a great concept and one that I hope succeeds as well as it should.
Don’t expect this collaborative effort to end with this collection, SS11 is already in the pipelines! The collection is available from The Hideout in London as of today. Don’t sleep!
For those interested in more of the story behind the collaboration, our friends over at Hypebeast have run a very informative interview with Michael and Andrew that is worth a read.
