Puma Suede (Violet & Indigo)

Puma drop another 2 colours of their staple Suede for all you basketball/hip-hop/b-boy/sneaker fanatics… it’s a popular shoe.

The Puma Suede is one of those shoes that should be in every self respecting sneaker heads collection (unless you have flat feet, in which case the stiff arches will cause problems). It’s a classic, and undoubtedly one of the most iconic pieces of footwear to date. With it’s simple yet perfect design and it’s strong ties to the B-Boy and Hip-Hop scenes of the ’80s, this shoe has mad amounts of heritage.

Originally released all the way back in ’68 the Suede-State-Clyde (in it’s full name) was a low-top basketball shoe inspired by basketball wiz-kid Walter Frazer who went on to lead the NY Nicks to their only 2 NBA Championships in 1970 and 1973. Getting it’s true recognition in the ’80s when the B-Boys of New York took it up as the must-have piece of footwear, the Suede has stuck in history ever since as a timeless design.

These 2 new colourways are both nicely understated whilst also having a decent splash of colour like all Suedes should. Personally, I prefer the Indigo/Green/White colourway as it reminds me of kids busting poses in the ’80s and has a bit more of that retro feel that makes the Suede what it is.

Both colours are available now for £45 each from Crooked Tongues.
