New Polo Ralph Lauren Oxford Shirts

NumberSix have just received two crisp new Oxford shirts from Polo Ralph Lauren ready for the approaching Spring season.

Every man worth his weight should own a decent Oxford shirt. The beautiful cotton, the well-fitted shape and the button down collar are all great reasons to have one of these wardrobe staples, let alone the fact that they go with nearly everything. It’s also pretty well known that Ralph Lauren make some of the best shirts and that many of the companies that you look to and admire, when it comes to shirting, are basing their shirt blocks on classic Ralphy ones (no shame in that, they’re damn good). So, with all this in mind, if you are yet to invest in a decent Ralph Lauren shirt then here is a good place to start.

Coming in Medium Purple and Vivid Orange, these two new shirts are plenty colourful without being overpoweringly bright and both feature the full-colour Polo Ralph Lauren logo on the chest (much better than the tonal logo in my opinion). If looked after properly, these will stay with you for years and years … unless you outgrow them obviously. Both are available now in-store and online from NumberSix for £80.

I like those shirts (particularly the light pink one) – a nice change from the corsets that have been promoted for men on the web. I love the collar and the back centre pleats. The sleeves are nicely proportioned while the body is not too loose or tight. The only thing I’d say is that I don’t like cambered seams on yolks in general – I think they should go straight across instead. Otherwise, very good!
