After the premiere of the grinch’d out christmas make-up of Kobe’s sixth instalment, an array of colour-ups have started to collectively drop on the back of that release, with this new white/concord version making it over to good ol’ Britain.
If your new to this model, it’s the basically the mean big brother of the Kobe V (which was an outstanding basketball shoe), with added heel support, snake skin texture and a variety of little details that capture Kobe’s playing style and character perfectly.
This colour-up of the VI combines white and concord to create a shoe that keeps things simple. It’s a make-up that just works. The futuristic feel of this design is toned down a touch with clever colour placement and a predominant white/off-white upper, which gives the shoe appeal to heads off the court as well as on.
I was pleasantly suprised by the special box as the V came in the familiar orange Nike packaging, but it’s good to see Kobe getting the attention he deserves. I still hate the Lakers though…
Available from House Of Hoops London now.
