oki-ni Presents MOON by Andrew Weatherall

In the first of their weekly mix series for 2011, oki-ni have drafted in electronica legend Andrew Weatherall to create a 66 minute combination of atmospheric and moody music that is quite simply incredible to listen to.

Andrew Weatherall is no newcomer on the scene, having been one of the first to be present at the beginning of the British Acid House scene and having worked with Primal Scream along the way, let alone his own work on Warp Records, It’s fair to say thatMr. Weatherall is beyond experienced. Apparently this specific mix was made whilst dreaming of people downloading their trousers rather than leaving the house and visiting the shops! An image that I find rather enjoyable to picture.

For fans of any Ambience, Shoegaze, Classical, Post-Rock or Electronica, this is a must download. And for everyone else, I strongly suggest you spend the next hour listening to this – it’s one of the most beautiful thing’s I’ve heard.

In addition, oki-ni have printed the cover art by Norwegian illustrator Janhakon Robson on a limited edition unisex t-shirt (pictured below), which is for sale as of this morning for £30 from oki-ni.

Weatherall is the King!! He plays to no-one. I saw him clear a packed dancefloor at Progress which made he go even darker!!
