Our Legacy SS11 Lookbook

Coming from Sweden, Our Legacy has consistently been one of my favourite brands over the last few years. Here we see what they are up to for Spring/Summer 2011 with their “Observations” collection.

With a core concept of observations, Our Legacy have delved into the basic meanings of observation and more specifically how you are observed and judged in relation to your workplace and translated that into their Spring/Summer collection for this year. To be honest, the best way to have it explained is by the designers themselves:

A persons work indeed reflects a lot upon its personality. By observing the behaviour and appearance of an individual you can take a good guess on what they are occupied with most of their time. Fore some people it is very important what your profession is and for some it doesn ?t matter that much. One thing is sure though, what you wear and how you wear it, is a reflection of your work and the other way around. Some trades require a strict dress code and leaves only small, yet very important details to play with, while some professions have developed their own subcultures with focus on style.

It’s a very in-depth and fascinating approach to design and is replicated in their collection. A rather mixed bunch of styles are given in this lookbook, all the way from super-casual to a double breasted suite. Hats off to whoever picked the models – they are amazing, and I can’t help but feel like a lot of it reminds me of the style in the film “I’m Still Here”. However, that has to be complete coincidence due to the time each one will have been designed.

A more than strong collection, as expected, and I’m looking forward to it trickling into our stores over the next month.
