While a lot of the UK scene repeatedly shouts about the same old T-shirt releases, Soap-Box have been quietly working away producing great new custom cut & sew pieces and continually improving the quality of their output. The new Shogun Project, comprising of a varsity jacket and the quilted lined ‘Light Armour’ shirt jacket, shows what can be achieved when you put the time and effort in.
The Shogun Varsity Jacket is a 100% custom, murdered out varsity, featuring an Italian, heavyweight melton wool body, with full grain leather sleeves and pocket detailing. The jacket features tonal Soap-Box logo embroidery on the chest, red lining and two interior pockets. Clean, simple and with great build quality. The varsity is joined by the ‘Light Armour’ shirt jacket, in the same colour scheme. – black with a tonal corduroy shoulder yolk and front pockets, and complete with quilted lining throughout the interior, representing the mid way between shirt and jacket. The whole thing is loosely inspired by the movie ‘Shogun Assassin’ – stealth black with hits of red.
Both items will be made available for pre-order as of January 31t from Soap-Box, and accompanied by the Lotus tee (not pictured). I love what this brand are doing, and they deserve all the love they can get with a premium quality release like this. Check some of the Soap-Box’s earlier work and you’ll see this isn’t just a one off. More images follow below.
