UK brand Indcsn have collaborated with Leeds store Chimp on this pair of snapback caps. The hats manage to mix both the store’s ape-like namesake and the brand’s hardcore background to great effect, and definitely make a bit of a statement.
The two tone Navy/Yellow colourway comes inspired by legendary New York hardcore band Gorilla Biscuits, often recognised by the giant gorilla mascot found on the cover of their self titled EP and much of the band’s merchandise. This navy and yellow combination was a favourite of theirs and made up many a T-shirt and hoody in the band’s heyday, and obviously ties in nicely with the ‘Chimp’ name. The black colourway is the more subtle of the two, although you could argue that there’s nothing subtle about having a picture of a bunch of bananas on your cap.
It’s great to see UK brand’s like Indcsn collaborating with UK stores. It doesn’t happen a lot this side of the world, and it’s definitely something we’re lacking in comparison to our US counterparts – I’d personally like to see a lot more of this kind of pairing. The caps launch this Saturday, March 5th at Chimp. Let us know what you think of the collaboration in the comments below.
