Pointer Pluckrose Waxed Canvas Duck Boots

For me, the Pointer Pluckrose waxed canvas duck boot is one of the most exciting releases of Spring/Summer 2011. Let me expain why …

Having seen these first at Bread & Butter last Summer, I’ve been patiently and quietly awaiting their public arrival with baited breath. It’s taken me a while to come round to the duck boot, and I think it’s fair to say that this precise model was what tipped me over the edge. Taking what is usually a very cumbersome and wellington looking boot and giving it a waxed canvas upper and a lightweight foam sole reminiscent to that of a Vibram, Pointer have created one of the greatest duck boots to date. It’s almost like a paradox of a duck boot, using canvas and an ultra-light foam sole, yet it still does everything a duck boot should, being water resistant and durable. Genius!

I have to stress just how light these are … if you have a chance to go into a store and pick a pair up, then do. It’s quite a shock at first. As usual with Pointer, these are made in Portugal to the highest standards and are top-quality. I guess the only downside to this release is that I cannot work out if I prefer the Green or Brown colourway. Maybe both is the best option?

Grab a pair now from Urban Industry for £129 and walk fearlessly into Spring.
