Possibly my favourite Puma release to date, the 10th of February sees the drop of the 2011 version of the classic puma ‘Bonanza’ collection. 1978 was the year, and jet setting athletes were the original target in the design brief, transforming sport into a way of life.
Fast forward 33 years and the needs of todays market has rapidly changed, as has the expectations of quality and style. After a few releases (most notably AW ’08) this years pack features two models, the Ranger LX HI and the Digger LX LO. The Digger LX lo is fully decked out with a suede upper and the classic ‘BONANZA’ detailing on the tongue, not to mention its army green stitching. Steering away from its sporting heritage, I personally see this as a brilliant option for throwing on before evening hangouts this Spring, bridging the divide between Winter and Summer footwear.
The Ranger LX Hi on the other hand comes in two colour options, black and brown, and is fitted with a full leather upper rather than suede. I like the black pair, but the brown is an absolute must have with its red stitching and laces to match. These have all the qualities that for some reason bring those images of ‘The Wonder Years’ and ‘Harry and the Hendersons’ flooding back.
All in all I’m loving this pack and I look forward to seeing what else Puma have to offer this year. The Bonanza Pack will be arriving at size? on the 10th of Feb for £65 and £75.
