Ah the Adidas ZX 800, a popular shoe in the running-obsessed world that is the european sneaker community. These new variations for Spring/Summer 2011 sees the classic ’86 silhouette take on some bold colours and new stylings.
Firstly let me say that these aren’t for the faint hearted – these colours are bold. The grey may tone down the green colourway, but green/orange is still quite a striking combination. However, I’m not going to dwell on that pair, what I really want to talk about it the yellow pair. This is the pair that has ZX heads drooling, with it’s bold and crisp colourway and it’s insanely good use of mesh to go over the three stripes – something I haven’t seen before and I love it. It’s a strong move, but I find it calms the shoe down and adds a new dimension to the shape.
The yellow/black/white colourway is a strong site and will undoubtedly be referred to as “bumble bees” or similar in the future, but they are without a doubt a must have for any Adidas running collector, almost completely due to that mesh covering the stripes.
Both pairs are available now from Meet Bernard for a very reasonable price of £65 a pair.
