Both Converse and Schott NYC can be described as truly iconic, and deservedly so. With pop culture figures such as Marlon Brando, James Dean and the Ramones often donning a biker jacket from the Schott NYC camp they have cemented their image in American history. Whilst still on the nostalgic trip, If i say the name Converse, I’m almost certain the first image that comes to mind is their Chuck Tailor Hi model, everybody has had a pair, I’m almost certain of this. With all this imagery cemented into the history pages of modern pop culture it was only a matter of time before they would come together and create something special.
A lot of thought has gone into this collaboration which is nice to see, I’m sick of seeing collaborations between brands where its more about the names than the end product which ends up looking like a run of the mill standard release with no outside influence what so ever. Not in this case.
Looking at this shoe you’ll instantly notice the input from Schott NYC, with a huge zipper detail featuring either side of the lace holes, jacket poppers on the tongue, the zipper on the back of the heel , black quilted satin inner lining , an off-white suede midsole and not to mention the distressed looking suede upper. This shoe is filled to the brim with detailing.
Personally not my style, however I love the product, I love the effort that has been put into creating something worth creating and I love the menacing feel Schott have brought to the table.
