Mackintosh X Converse Jack Purcell

More often than not you can tell when a collaboration will happen, but every now and then one will come along that you didn’t see coming yet it all makes perfect sense, just like in this instance with Mackintosh and Converse.

Take one American classic and one British classic, combine the two and you have yourself a Jack Purcell ‘Johnny’ decked out in Mackintosh colours made with waterproof rubberized cotton and a matching rain coat to cement the two together. Coming in three colourways (navy blue/lime, putty/chocolate and dark olive/plum), all three have had the iconic Jack Purcell navy ‘smile’ treatment and come with monochromatic laces matching the upper, however they also come with a contrast pair in the respective colour.

To round this collaboration off, Mackintosh have produced a limited run of 120 of it’s ever classic single breasted Mac jacket in identical colours and materials to the shoes with the Jack Purcell ‘smile’ bringing the Converse branding beneath the collar.

Being released on the 22nd of April, these pieces will be sold exclusively through both the Mackintosh flagship store on Mount Street and in Dover Street Market. The shoes look set to be priced around £120 but I’m not too certain about the Mac as of yet.

It’s surprise collaborations like this that keep me excited to see what else will be coming our way in the future.
