Canterbury NZ SS11

Some of you out there might know Canterbury for their clothing contribution to sports such as cricket and most notably Rugby, however for this Spring/Summer and the coming Autumn/Winter they have produced a lifestyle range that for this kind of brand really impresses.

This SS11 collection is vast and contains all that you need including shirting, chinos, shorts and outer wear – a well mixed collection that places Canterbury nicely as a brand that is so much more than just a sporting apparel company. Here we have a brief look at the SS11 lookbook, which gives us a good look into the collection showcasing the hero pieces on offer. For me, the styling is top notch and has an appeal to various styles out there, the preppy look and the casual smart as well as the more desirable varsity jacket appropriated look.

The collection is inspired by Canterbury’s New Zealand collegiate sporting heritage infused with American Ivy league styles, a perfect mix to represent the collection in a fashion forward way, sticking to trends at the same time. I have to admit that here we are not seeing anything too different in terms of new styles or developing trends, but what we do see is a very nice well rounded collection that won’t look a miss next to the more well known fashion brands of menswear. I think Canterbury have done a superb job here, re-branding themselves as a lifestyle fashion brand. AW11 will be the third season for this new lifestyle sector of the brand, so fingers crossed we will see yet another impressive collection.

Available now in store from the UK flagship store in Bath and online here.
