This Saturday will see the launch of the much anticipated collaboration between arguably the world’s most famous streetwear brand, Stüssy, and arguably the world’s biggest comic book publisher, Marvel. Series One of the T-shirt collection drops in the UK this weekend, and looks set to be one for both Marvel and Stüssy collectors alike.
I’ll admit, I wasn’t too sure about the capsule at first. It’s one of those things… I probably wouldn’t walk around with a ‘Wolverine’ T-shirt on, so does the addition of a Stüssy logo really change my mind? Some of the graphics do come out a little ‘garish’, but the more I look at the series one selection, the more I start to like it. My two picks of the bunch are the character list tee, which lists the names of Marvel superheroes in a similar fashion to the Stüssy Chapter Store tees, and the Ghost Rider tee – something about the small chest print/large back print combo, and the flaming skull graphic conjures up images of old school surf tees, which I really like.
Get a look at the first part of the collaboration below, and if you like what you see, you can find it all online and in-store at The Hideout from tomorrow (May 7th).
