London Menswear store PRESENT have taken a British approach to Ivy League style with their Summer 2011 Lookbook, showcasing their own store-brand collection.
For those that remember, PRESENT launched their own full collection last season, and as they entered collection number two, the brand has grown leaps and bounds in only one season’s time. As much as people say the Autumn/Winter is a better season for Men’s fashion, I’d happily use this lookbook as a counter-arguement. PRESENT know what they’re doing when it comes to Men’s Summer fashion, especially when it comes to the more preppy / Ivy League stylings. This collection is outragously strong, showcasing a fine selection of shirting, jackets, chinos and accessories.
As for the lookbook, I personally can’t find a flaw. Although I’m sure there will be a few disgruntled people because it’s shot outside, may I point out that this is not a hill-top or forest setting. This lookbook is wonderfully in context with both the look of the garments, styling of the models and the store itself – it’s quintessentially English with hints of Ivy League Americana. The use of a 35mm camera adds to the old school feel that the garments and styling reference in themselves.
Over-all I think it’s fair to say that this lookbook does it’s job and does it well, because I now want everything on show. Another strong collection from the gang at PRESENT and an equally strong lookbook to accompany it.
