Tricker’s for Norse Projects

Norse Projects once again turn to the English shoe kings that are Tricker’s to make them some new exclusive pieces of footwear for the modern gentleman.

What I like most about the collaborations that Norse Projects have been pulling out of the bag recently is that they seem to hunt out collaborators who are originals and pioneers in their market, be it a quilted jacket (Lavenham), waxed cotton back pack (Ally Cappalino) or this British brogue inspired capsule collection. Bringing their own flavour through the use of colours and materials, Norse Projects have given a modern, contemporary edge to the classic Stow and Bourton brogues.

Using a luxurious suede for the Bourton Brogue, coupled with a Vibram sole unit and waxed laces, these are possibly one of the most perfect examples of a modern wingtip brogue I’ve seen. The use of that rich Brick Red on the sole unit for the Guacho and Turf Green variations holds so much character, especially when coupled with the cream leather trim. As for the Midnight Blue pair, the White Vibram sole is just too damn fresh. However, I’m sure it wouldn’t remain that fresh for too long, unfortunately.

As for the Stow inspired brogue boots, they each hold their own personality. The Navy pair sits atop a Brick Red Vibram sole unit with a cream leather trim, reminiscent in style to the Bourton brogues withint the collection. Deep in colour, with tonal waxed laces, this is a true night-time boot. However, it’s Lollipop Red counterpart sits atop a hefty crepe sole, giving the shoe a truly classic feel. With it’s Yellow/Lollipop laces and rich coloured leather upper, I can’t help but be reminded of a Dr. Marten with these boots, but that’s most likely down to the off-white cotton pull-tab on the heel. If you’re looking for a lightweight boot, I would avoid this large quantity of crepe sole.

All of the shoes are lined with a soft tan leather lining and appear to have some form of hand-numbering/coding written on the inside.

The Tricker’s for Norse Projects capsule collection is available now exclusively from Norse Store with free worldwide shipping as they are all past the €300 price point.
