Last week saw Unit 44 premier a collaborative exhibition entitled ‘Selected Moments’ featuring artists Remi/Rough and Stormie Mills. It’s only fair that we throw up a couple of pictures from the night. It’s not often the North-East showcases such prolific contemporary artists, especially outside of the large galleries, however, with all the positive media attention around Unit 44’s “White Walls” project and it’s eclectic range of sought after pieces, there couldn’t be a more fitting location. It was incredible to see a new direction from both artists choosing a more dynamic range of colour in comparison to their past combined efforts, both within the huge mural and on canvas.
The collection showcased pieces all created within Unit 44’s studio space, a first for both artists who have been working together for over a decade. The night itself was faultless, an incredible ten piece collaborative collection unique for Unit 44 with plenty of drinks, art muses and good vibes, hosted by one of the most exciting event spaces in Newcastle.
Last but not least, here is a little insight into the hard work put in by the boys over at Unit 44 and of course the artists themselves, courtesy of Kyeo.tv.
