A welcome treat to our shores, Boston’s sneaker mecca Bodega have made a bit of an impression on the UK in the past week, first, with the release of their ‘Black Cat’ Footscapes, and now, with their SS11 ‘Bone Breakers’ apparel collection. Whilst the name is predominantly associated with collectable footwear, Bodega show us that their exclusive kicks aren’t the only string to their bow with an impressive cut & sew collection.
First up is the pullover Oxford Lined Anorak – a brushed cotton jacket with striped oxford cotton lining, Bodega woven label and leather detailing. Available in both navy/green and a pale grey. Next are the Striped Crew Pocket T-shirts – fully cut & sew tees pieces together with Breton striped and solid grey cotton panels, finished with a button closed pocket on the chest. The collection also includes two pairs of herringbone twill Ranger Shorts, in green or navy, with chambray lined waistbands and pockets. In support you’ll also find a selection of headwear (the two Plaid Camp 5 Panels with suede brims stealing the show), and the 3-D Mike Tyson T-shirt, which comes with it’s own 3-D glasses.
This is an excellent collection, and if things continue in this direction it won’t be long before Bodega are known as much for their clothing as their choice in footwear. A small selection of staple pieces which, although not extravagantly different, manage to bring something unique to the table. Select pieces are available now from Foot Patrol (London) and Below (Brighton).
