More known as a rugby and sporting brand, Canterbury’s lifestyle division bring us a lookbook combining the brands original take on the Ivy League style, as well as giving the collection an original twist styling wise.
The collection includes all that you would expect from a rugby and sporting brand – heritage inspired rugby shirts appear throughout, as well as an extensive and very impressive shirting collection. A varied selection of high quality Oxford shirts make it hard to find a piece that you wouldn’t want to wear. Check and plaid shirting also contribute to the collection in warm and earthy colours, fit for the Autumn and Winter months. Outerwear such as gillets, jackets and heavy knit wear make up the Winter warmers. Fitted chinos and jogging pants, plus t-shirts and sweats complete a pretty healthy AW11 collection.
The styling here also needs a mention, some might be put off by this brand at first as most know the name as a rugby brand and not as a fashion/lifestyle house. However, as you can see from this lookbook, the styling shows it in a way that can be embraced by streetwear heads as well as the more smartly and sartorially inclined members of our readership. The brand is clearly tapping into a niche of fashion that combines some streetwear sensibilities by adapting their garments to more stylised outfits. The inclusion of rapper Mikil Pane is a great example of this and a very pleasant surprise.
Canterbury’s AW11 collection will be available on ASOS.com from September 5th.
