New York streetwear behemoth Mishka have released a teaser video for their upcoming A/W 2011 lookbook, set entirely in London and featuring a plethora of talented English producers and musicians.
The video, directed by Laurence Dean, is a very choppy and gritty lookbook – reciprocating the brands notorious care-free attitude. Mishka themselves have stated “This coming Autumn will surely be the season of Mishka’s domination over all other streetwear companies” so they seem quite sure of themselves. The collection itself isn’t anything particularly unique, offering variations on their signature designs. Most notably from this video, the new Heatseeker colourways which always seem to inundate the street in colder weather, and the Keep Watch crew neck, as they’ve reverted to the more rugged style as opposed to the garish, vivid and cartoony carnation.
“We may have exhausted our DJ/producer Grime, Dubstep and House rolodex for this one, as the clip boasts appearances by the living legend, Plastician, as well as Bok Bok, one half of Night Slugs — one of the most exciting labels in the world — and if that wasn’t enough, brought out some other big guns in Redlight, Darq E. Freaker, Subscape, Tomb Crew, Roska, Peigh, Spooky (of Oil Gang), Alix Perez and Doorly.”
Another solid and creative lookbook from Mishka, adding to the list of brands who are starting to rely upon video lookbooks to showcase their wares, the Fall collection should be hitting the UK shores later this month.
