The relationship between UK streetwear titans Trapstar and online store Donuts has always been strong, and this newest collection only strengthens it, offering the same quirky designs that helped them build such an esteemed reputation.
The two tee shirts sample works from Andy Warhol, similar to Trapstar’s collaboration last year with London store Wholesome, reworking the famous “Campbell’s Soup Can” design.
This Warhol reference uses the 1985 Basquiat Print to full effect, tying in with the posthumous birthday of the poignant pop artist (August 6th). Whilst the snapback and other tee shirt use the skull logo that has become synonymous with Trapstar, incorporated into a Goonies-esque typographic design, which offers much less originality than the Warhol influenced design, but still works well.
