Fred Perry AW11 “Friends of Fred” Collection

Back again for a second season, Fred Perry’s “Friends of Fred” concept showcases select pieces from Garbstore, Levis, Alfred Sargent and John Smedley, making them available to Fred Perry customers.

A truly interesting approach to collaborations, “Friends of Fred” was created by the folks at Fred Perry to showcase fashion styled synonymous with the Fred Perry brand, inviting in guest brands that Fred Perry admire to help them achieve this goal. The select pieces are then displayed and sold alongside Fred Perry products in the Fred Perry Laurel Wreath stores and on the webstore. A truly intriguing and open minded approach from a brand this size.

This season, Fred Perry have gone for the sharp mod look, inviting British greats Garbstore, Alfred Sargent and John Smedley to join Levis (who featured in last seasons “Friends of Fred”). Creating a singular look that reminds me of James Dean, it’s great to see these brands pulling together and fitting so well.

At the core of this style is the Dorset Sweater from John Smedley, crafted from 100% merino wool. Perched perfectly on top of that is the real highlight to this look, the woolen Kadet Coat from Garbstore. The 1965 505 Rigid Jeans and cord Sta-Prest Trouser from Levi’s help to finish off the look alongside the extremely high quality Bexhill Chukka Boot from Alfred Sargent.

This very strong a character filled look, that surprisingly features no Fred Perry product, will be available from all Fred Perry Laurel Wreath stores and the webstore as of this Monday (26th September).
