Nike Air Max 1 (Neutral Grey/Obsidian)

Nike have taken this classic for one hell of ride over the last ten years. We’ve seen the good, the bad and the damn right ugly sides of this much loved runner.

After an overload of mundane and uninspiring make-ups, this new colour-up has come out of nowhere and is actually on point. Yeah the shape still sucks a little, but when colour applications such as this release you kinda look past all that obsessive geeky thinking. This release makes use of a decent palette of neutral tones and vibrant accents that actually somehow give this over-killed shoe a refreshing look.

Contrary to the ‘crispy’ and ‘fresh’ mentality of some sneaker fanboys and girls, the Air Max 1 even manages to stay looking dope when seriously beaten. For me, this make-up should be worn all year around and looks like the kind that is just waiting to get beaten and naturally weathered.

How the hell can the Air Max 1 shape suck??? Just about sums up what you boys know. It’s a classic, in fact i’d argue that this is the most perfect shape of runner in the history of the shoe game.

He is referring to how the shape looks as opposed to previous generations of the air max 1, which has changed significantly over the years, the current shape being the least preferred amongst many sneakerheads. Just about sums up what you know, John.
