It’s a phrase I’ve used more than a few times, but the Fall collection from Acapulco Gold really is their best yet. This season, AG present a winterized selection of graphic tees, fleece, and headwear, with select wovens and outerwear.
The Boxer and Regiment crewnecks are instant stand out pieces for me, with graphics layered up over text in traditional AG style, and available on a number of different colour bodies. Hoods and crews are constructed from 420 gram cross-grain Canadian fleece, and when it comes to this sort of product, the Canadians definitely know what’s up. The tees are just as strong, with the Lion’s Den design my personal favourite.
The brand’s Angry ‘Lo Bear logo makes another appearance, this time embroidered on black and grey beanies, alongside the usual selection of fitted and snapback caps – my money is on the camo Knockout and corduroy Dog Crest caps being this season’s big sellers. The centre piece of the collection is the OG Boss Wool Jacket (above), which sees the brand revert back to more traditional varsity styles, using a 24 oz. Melton wool body with pinstriped collar & cuffs, embroidered felt applique, heavy duty buttons, and reinforced button holes. It looks like an excellent piece all round, and I’m looking forward to checking it out up close.
The whole thing leaves me more than a little spoiled for choice, and I can see this brand taking a lot of my money this year. The Fall collection is available now from Urban Industry and from Angry Daves very soon.
