Heel Bruise Fall 2011 ‘Intermission’ Collection

Southern Californian based brand Heel Bruise present their Fall 2011 apparel collection with a skate inspired mix of hoodies, tees, hats, jackets and trousers.

For those who aren’t too versed on the American label, Heel Bruise was created by two childhood friends in early 2009; aiming to create future timeless graphics which represent their upbringings, recollections and heritage. Their Fall collection includes some logo based designs but also sees Heel Bruise venturing into the more subtle, sartorially tailored goods, as is evident by pieces like the chino pants, or the denim Coach’s Jacket.

The designs are clean, and enthused with simplicity. My favourite tee has to be the ‘Smile Now, Smile Later’ design, the message is pretty poignant compared to the brusque, braindead slogans which a lot of brands nonchalantly slap onto their tees in order to shift units.

Though a very muted colour palette, that isn’t a negative, winter is coming and none of us want our carrot & coriander soup to be ruining our favourite pieces as a result of misplaced hubris. Get a further look at the collection below, which is available from Angry Daves now.
