Introducing Karhu, Finland’s now legendary running footwear brand which was first set up back in 1916. This brand has an authentic heritage within running and is all about the great outdoors. Nearly 100 years on Karhu still stays true to their original design principles of simplicity while providing technical performance.
Although other brands are more known for marketing and utilising air cushioned outsoles on shoes, Karhu were actually the first footwear brand to invent an air cushioned sole back in early 1970, with the result being the ‘Champion’ model. Karhu’s most innovative development, ‘Fulcrum Technology’, first saw a release back in 1986. Fulcrum Technology was developed and designed to create a shoe that makes energy flow horizontally throughout your foot and not vertically, encouraging the runner to move forward. Basically, the aim was to allow your feet to move through a natural path and as fast and safe as possible. This three way pack pays homage to all of this heritage and innovative running technology, while also introducing this old time brand to a wider and new audience.
Celebrating Karhu Originals’ first season in the UK, Foot Patrol will be showcasing vintage Karhu products from different eras in-store with a special evening preview on 16 November from 6-9pm. Expect to see various sports athletic shoes from weightlifting to running, all from a variety of decades such as the 1940s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. To coincide with the vintage showcase, this three-way pack will also be launching on 16th November at Foot Patrol.
