A Bathing Ape x Star Wars 2012

Streetwear stalwart A Bathing Ape continue their collaborative relationship with the Star Wars franchise, with a brand new collection featuring T-shirts, zip-hoods, and accessories, along with a few homeware items .

The collection follows a smaller capsule of T-shirts released last September, and this time the standout pieces for me, perhaps unfortunately, are the accessories. Being a fan of all of the extra, perhaps novelty, accessories brands put out, BAPE have done a sterling job with this collection, particularly with the Jawa plush toys. Once more we see the brand’s full zip hoodie utilised, made famous by their Shark design, and whilst the somewhat garish patterns would be difficult to style, the extra details on the hood are definitely a bonus.

The tees, whilst using the imagery I’d expect from the collaboration, I’m afraid are a little uninspired in my eyes. I can’t see many people wearing them without looking like a bit of a plonker, though the ‘Carbonite Chamber’ tee is an exception.

If you can wrap your head around the prices of some of the accessories they’d definitely be a good look, ‘though maybe released a little late in order to be bought for Star Wars fanatic friends as a lavish Christmas present.

The whole collection as shown below will be available exclusively from the BAPE London store from this Saturday, the 7th of January.

Designs are okay, but looks like the tees are lacking quality.
