Recap: Eastpak Artist Studio 2012

Last Wednesday saw the London launch of the Eastpak Artist Studio in Shoreditch’s ‘Jaguarshoes’.

As expected the night had a much more art-scene vibe than fashion, but with free mojitos in jam jars and a room full of bags on display, I wasn’t complaining at all. Now, as previously mentioned, the bags were designed by 130 different personalities in the creative field and will be sold off as one of ones to help raise money for ‘Designers Against Aids’. It’s good to see Eastpak putting their huge reputation to a good cause.

The majority of the bunch are completely unwearable, which is only expected as ‘Art’ pieces, but my favourites by far were Marc Gulden’s designs which took on the form of both granite and water. If they went into mass production, I think they’d sell in a flash (I know I’d by one).
