Introducing: Open Lifestyle Store

Today saw the opening of a brand new premium streetwear store in Leeds city centre, the culmination of months of hard work, which I think you’ll agree, looks like it’s paid off.

Open Lifestyle is situated in the Thornton’s Arcade (the same place you’ll find The Chimp Store and HIP), and along with a tight range of hand-picked brands, stocks a selection of homewares, music, and men’s grooming products. On the clothing side of things you’ll find the likes of Black Scale, Us Versus Them, Tantum, Superb LA, and Lee 101, together with UK stand-outs Listen Supply, Too Much Posse, and Victate. The apparel sits alongside Agora Vintage snapbacks, Timex Originals watches, iPhone cases from Cote et Ciel, and other great bits like Marvis Toothpaste, Baxter of California face products, and Jason Markk’s sneaker cleaning kits – not forgetting music from Stones Throw and Wax Poetics magazines.

It’s a great little selection so far, with even more set to follow from brands like Actual Pain, 10Deep, and Carter & Bond. Open Lifestyle’s focus is set firmly on an in-store shopping experience, and they’ve pulled out all the stops on a great looking shop fit that I look forward to checking out for myself.

While some might question their reasons for opening on the same block as two existing stores of a similar nature, maybe Thornton’s Arcade is to become the UK’s answer to Fairfax? Regardless of that, it takes a lot to put together something like this and actually pull it off, so definite props go out to those involved. If you’re in the Leeds area, pass by this week, grab a coffee in-store, and have a browse. If not, take a look at some shots below, and view the online store at Open Lifestyle.

The UK is screaming out for more stores like this. Hope to see plenty of support for UK brands on the shelves, and in turn see the public support a boutique like this.
Looks great, and will have to make the trip to visit

Nice to see them up and running! Real glad they are stocking us, one of only 2 we have chosen right now! Props to them for making this shop look so good, real fitting for everyone they carry

Dropped by yesterday to have a browse. The shop fittings look fantastic and are tastefully in-tune with the historic setting of Thorntons Arcade. It’s thoroughly refreshing to see an independent making an effort to source interesting and high quality brands they have belief in, rather than jumping on the bandwagon of mediocrity that’s become commonplace in today’s streetwear market. Similarly gratifying to see the store trying to make the real life shopping experience a pleasant one. Needless to say I didn’t leave empty handed.

Onwards and upwards for Open Lifestyle.
