Newcastle’s SoleHeaven present their first lookbook, entitled ‘Snaps & Packs’, which sees them focus not on the extensive range of footwear we’ve come to know them for, but their ever expanding range of headwear and luggage.
The lookbook was shot by David Bilbrough on his 1964 Contax, using Fujifilm 400 film, giving us an analogue take on a typically digital procedure, and it’s been used to great effect. With a little help from BMX rider Andrew Murphy, the shoot features brands like Actual Pain, Benny Gold, The Hundreds, Quintin, Nixon, and Eastpak, and as you would expect, is centered around snapbacks and backpacks.
Retailer directed lookbook shoots have become a pretty regular occurrence, and now more than ever, it’s important for stores to work hard on a concept that really makes a shoot like this stand out from the rest and be worthy of attention – my only criticism would be that I’m just not sure this one manages to achieve that, despite some great photography. Check out a selection of shots below, and browse the full range at SoleHeaven.
