CLOT x adidas Originals Superstar ’80 “Textile”

This spring/summer sees the 3rd collaboration effort from adidas Originals and Hong Kong’s premier boutique CLOT, and this time Japanese designer Kazuki Kuraishi, who is part of the Fragment design collective, joins in on the fun.

Created in partnership for CLOT, this new Superstar 80s Textile strikes a balance between old and new. The classic Superstar 80s aesthetics are all still intact, but with more of a lightweight approach on the material front. The upper of this Superstar 80 sees the exchange of the usual leather application with a royal blue lightweight mesh upper, chosen to create more of a breathable upper for the foot with the humid Asian climate in mind. The retro feel and heritage aesthetic is provided by the vintage off-white outsole and rubber shell toe, which are contrasted by the light Argentina blue on the laces, heel patch and stitching. Final details such as the heel tab, internal suede, a cotton footbed for comfort, and the Adidas “kzkLOT joint development” logos printed on the tongue & footbed all work together with the main aesthetic of the upper to create yet another incredible collaboration from these guys.

Look for these releasing over at Consortium and all other adidas Originals stockists on 1st July.
