Following Ashdown Workshop’s debut last month with a well rounded collection of wallets, belts, iPad cases and wrist wear, it’s promising to see them come back again with an equally strong drop of iPhone cases.
Adding to their product range for Summer 2012, they bring us their iPhone Case, a perfect leather accessory to keep your iphone safe from chips or scratches. It’s designed around a slim silhouette with rounded edges allowing a perfect fit for your pockets. There are three finishes available, all made from a premium 5oz ‘Almond’ or ‘Cashew’ Madison shoulder veg-tanned leather and sourced locally in the UK. Over time the leather will age beautifully and uniquely with use, darkening in colour to produce a rich caramel brown patina. They’ve made the almond colour available in two finishes, a natural finish and a hand polished finish with the latter being my favourite of this collection
As previously stated, all of thier products are 100% handmade with no use of any machines. Hand cut with a half moon leather knife and then hand-stitched with Northern Ireland linen thread, which is hand-waxed prior to stitching to add extra durability and life to the thread. The leather edges have been treated to stop premature wearing, adding a subtle sheen and darkening to the leather. This product, along with all their other products, are made in their workshop located in Sussex, England.
The product has been made publicly available today on their webstore with a reasonable price of £40 or for the hand polished leather £42.50, not too bad in my opinion. It’s great to see heaps more promise from a brand that I’ve got high hopes for.
