asics Gel X-TRA Series ‘End Of An Era’ pack (Gel 111 & A6 Gel X-TRA)

Reissued for the first time since its inception in 1997, asics’ Gel X-TRA Series will finally go into retirement with this release being the last of its kind.

Consisting of the Gel 111 and A6 Gel X-TRA, this pack sees the two iconic running models get a final release. Both shoes have been one of the most successful and appreciated designs in the asics back catalogue, for well over a decade now. This is a sad day indeed, but also a time of retrospect to salute these two amazing footwear designs and celebrate the excellence of them.

This pack contains a huge amount of that classic asics design and aesthetic, with a certain late 1990s look that seems to have made a come back of late. Each shoe is mainly constructed of soft white leather on the upper which is combined with underlays of mesh, something asics fans will be familiar with. The excellent and smooth shape of the shoes, brand details, and clever working of the colour palettes all work so well together. With the recent revival of mid to late ’90s runners, these should be a hit here in the UK and no doubt with long time asics fanboys and girls.

The ‘End Of An Era’ pack will dropping in-store at Fat Buddha on Saturday 23rd June 2012.
