Nike Huarache Free 2012 (White/Soar/Cyber)

Nike Huarache Free 2012 (White/Soar/Cyber)

We’ve seen a decent mix of colour-ups utilised on Nike’s Huarache Free hybrid since its inception late last year. The original and new colourways that have been executed have provided us with an excellent alternative to the Air Huarache LE’s. For this release, we see a nod to the classic and fan favourite Huarache ‘scream green’ colour application.

First glances at these probably evoke a Huarache Free version of the scream green’s, and they nearly are, but there’s some subtle differences that make this release its own. We are being very picky here but the use of a cyber green and mesh toe box instead of leather, and not to mention the Free outsole, take this release out of the ”it’s basically scream green’s with a Free outsole” talk. Anyway, you will find all of the familiar materials such as nylon and leather constructing the upper, with the unmistakable Huarache logo, heel tabs and neoprene sock-like fit also in place, all sitting on Nike’s Free outsole. These hold down there own and combine a great mixture of past and present, with a nod to past colour-ups in the original Air Huarache series.

Available from Crooked Tongues now.

Nothing will ever beat the original sole of the huarache though. I just cant get used to the free run sole at all. Even on the free run 2s. The cyber green is probably the neatest of the frees to come out though. The other available colourways such as the magenta, look sharp but not on my feet.
