Nike drop another NRG pack, this time supposedly focused on the 2012 Euro’s. Introducing the Clash Pack.
Hard to spot at first, there are some nice little references to Nike Football in this pack. Taking inspiration from the colour fade and palette on the new Nike Mercurial Vapor VII football boots and bringing it to some terrace popular sportswear silhouettes, this pack screams football fan in the pub. You’re either going to love these or passionately hate them, but there’s something there for sure. It’s a bit of an odd mix of tennis and running shoes (Air Max 1, Cortez Classic and Tennis Classic AC), but if you think of it in the eyes of a football fan I guess it makes sense.
The patterned heel tabs remind me of old Nike football boots, especially on the Cortez heel tab. If you remove the football element from these, there’s some great colourways that are clean in a way rarely seen on Nike footwear these days, especially the Air Max 1. The colour fade laces are really questionable and will probably the make or break for most people. I can forgive them on the Air Max 1, but I think they’re a little ill placed on the Cortez.
The pack is available now over at Crooked Tongues.
