The Hundreds Hoya by Methamphibian

The Hundreds have worked with acclaimed sneaker designer and customiser Methamphibian on a special ‘red box’ version of their newer Hoya model.

We haven’t seen much from Meth in a few years, but previous work with the likes of DC, Nike and New Balance did not go unnoticed, so it’s nice to see him back at work. His predominantly black & white designs are continued in this Hoya, which features a polka dot gradient moving from dark to light from the back, on top of a white EVA midsole.

The Hoya itself takes inspiration from early 90’s runners, particularly the Huarache and Huarache Light, borrowing their neoprene sock and outer cage. This is only the third time we’ve seen the model, following the Ben & Bobby pack release in December, and I think this one could take come getting used to.

Limited to 100 pairs worldwide, the Hoya will be part of the top tier of The Hundreds footwear and come in a red, jags printed box. They release at a handful of locations from this coming Wednesday, June 27th. In the UK, you can find them at 5 Pointz.
