Twothirds present their SS12 collection, a surf inspired environmentally friendly collection that perfectly combines wearable items with an ethical aim.
Many brands are quick to fail at trying to give collections an ethical feel but Twothirds are the exception, supporting the charity Oceana (the ocean protection agency) since the brands first collection, which surfaced last season. This second collection again continues to support the charity with the use of recycled materials and brings us a clean, simple and very appealing surf streetwear collection. As you would expect from the surf brand, the lookbook is mainly full of classic short styles and nautical tees, along with the odd chino and piece of lightweight outerwear – all staples for a decent warm weather wardrobe.
The two strengths of this collection for me have to be the aesthetic and the colour used through out. Not only is the styling well done but the art direction of the shoot is executed superbly for the type of brand this is. Nothing here seems forced or as if the brand is trying too hard to be a ‘surf’ clothing brand, it just seems to look right and the clothing fits perfectly into each shot. The next is the colour pallet used, taking obvious inspiration from the ocean with deep hues as well as weathered natural colours that look easy to combine with other outfits.
Some really nice Summer pieces can be found in this collection from TwoThirds, available now from The Great Divide.
