Umbro Icons Mexico 1970 Jersey

Umbro look back at their archive and come with these exact replicas of the 1970 England jersey.

Created for the England team to play in during the sweltering 1970 World Cup in Mexico, these jerseys are made from a nice breathable perforated cotton. Keeping that figure hugging cut of old-school football, it may be wise to size up if you want them to fit loose.

For some reason, the perforated cotton material reminds me of basketball jerseys and I can’t help but imagine how rad these would look if they were worn oversized in the same way. It would a strange site, but a right one. One thing that Umbro do very well is re-issuing classics, as proven here and throughout the rest of the Icons range.

Both these blue and pink version are available now from Oi Polloi for £55 a pop. To be honest, I can’t help but think that the coloured versions look like a white one that’s been accidentally put in the wrong wash. But, I really like them. The classic White version is available exclusively over at Umbro for £50.
